Stainless Steel Canopy Filters

Stainless steel canopy filters and baffle filters

Canopy filters are the first stage of grease removal in a commercial kitchen extraction system. Grease laden air is forced to change direction through the baffles, the grease drops out into the collection channel, and cleaner air carries on into the ductwork. Get this stage wrong and the grease ends up in the duct, which is a fire risk and an expensive clean.

CK Direct supplies stainless steel baffle filters and mesh filters in standard sizes, and manufactures non standard sizes to order for older canopies where nothing off the shelf fits.

Baffle or mesh

  • Baffle filters are the standard for commercial kitchens. They are washable, they hold their shape, and they are what DW172 expects on a cooking canopy.
  • Mesh filters are lighter and cheaper, and are still found on older or lighter duty canopies. They clog faster and are not suited to heavy grease loads.

Filters should be washed on a schedule that matches how hard the kitchen works, and swapped out once the frame or baffles distort. If you are not sure what size you need, measure the filter runner opening and send us the dimensions.

Filters are one part of a compliant system. See our guide to DW172 and commercial kitchen extraction regulations for where they sit in the wider specification, or browse kitchen extract canopies.
