Dark nights and pulling in fast
October marks the beginning of the festive or party season, and darker nights. On 26/7th the clocks will go back 1 hour and, of course, that means the nights will be pulling in even more. Then just 5 days later it’ll be Halloween. Then just 5 days after that it’s Guy Fawkes Night. So, there are two big catering opportunities over the next six weeks before the big run down to Christmas. Then there’s just a six-week period to get ready for the Christmas festivities and the celebration of the New Year. So, are you happy that everything is going to run smoothly all the way through to the second week of January?
There’ll be a lot going on, so before it all kicks off is your:
- Extraction system working at 100%?
When was the last time you had it cleaned.
As you know, the TR19® regulations, insist that kitchen extraction systems must be cleaned, at least, every six months, in order to maintain FOG (fat, oil and grease) standards. (25 Mar 2022). Of course, it is recognised throughout the catering industry that, the cleaner the extraction system is, the lower is the risk to you of fire and serious disruption to your business. Don’t take chances and risk an inspection or even worse – a fire! - Odour control working effectively?
Upset neighbours can be vindictive and an inspection at this time of the year is the last thing you need.
So, after you’ve had the system cleaned, instal the AirteckG64. It eliminates smells and prevents the build-up of grease in the ductwork, reducing the risk of fire and fan failures and the really Good News is that it improves extraction efficiency and so saves you money - The Gas interlock working flawlessly?
Do you have any occasional glitches? If so get it checked out sooner rather than later, because the last thing you need when you have a capacity booking is for the interlock to cut the gas supply.
Don’t risk it get it checked out. - The Canopy filter stock full?
Have you just changed filters before the season kicks off? If you have it would be a good idea to make sure you have enough back-ups just in case. Don’t delay – order them today - Lighting working 100% or do you have a flicker?
With the darker nights pulling in, now is the time to ensure you have back-ups for the kitchen and front of house. - Cleaning product – up to snuff and do you have enough?
