British Summertime is officially here!
The clocks went forward last weekend, and we have longer and lighter evenings to look forward to. Hopefully we will be enjoying warmer days and evenings too, when we can visit friends, go down to the pub and have an occasional meal out, at one of your favourite local restaurants.
Of course, we are also on the verge of the Easter celebrations, and as we pointed out in our previous blog, several million families, every year, take advantage of the Good Friday and Easter Monday bank holidays to have a fortnight’s break with their family in the UK, while only spending 8 days of their holiday allowance.
So, the month of April almost feels like the watershed month, separating the long, wet and dark winter months from the lighter, drier and warmer summer ones and heralding the beginnings of the more relaxed and brighter season.
This can be a good time for UK catering businesses. There will be more people about in the longer, lighter and hopefully drier evenings.
And there’s more to look forward to!
The Early May Bank Holiday weekend follows shortly on Saturday 2rd May to Monday 4th so you can expect that some people will use this opportunity to take a week’s break too.
