It wasn’t much of an early summer followed by a hot couple of weeks and now we are going back to shorter days, longer nights and colder temperatures. However, there are special occasions, albeit not at the weekends, which could provide opportunities for extra special catering evenings.
Special Catering Events
These are just ideas but as the clocks will go back one hour at 24.01 on Sunday 27th October you could, perhaps, promote this as the beginning of the 4-and-a-half-month party season with a special party rate promotion for booking two events.
The following Thursday is Halloween and that could be the second in the series of party nights with the restaurant decorated in traditional Halloween spookiness. The following Tuesday is November 5th Guy Fawkes night, so another opportunity presents itself for a fireworks themed evening.
November 30th happens to fall on a Saturday so that could be turned into a special night too to celebrate the approach of Christmas. If you are going to use these date opportunities to create special theme evenings, you need to make sure that everything in the kitchen is good.
Extraction system clean and maintenance
When was the last time your extraction system was cleaned? If it was about 6 months ago, now is the time to get it organised before the Christmas period gets into full swing. At the same time, you should check, and if necessary, replace your filters.
Once that has been done, you could take the opportunity to check all your stainless-steel wall cladding and other stainless-steel items too, so that you can be sure you’re in tip top condition going forward toward the Christmas and new Year celebrations.
Odour Reduction
While you’re having the extraction system cleaned you can make sure that you reduce any odours by having the CK Direct AirTeck G64 fitted. It’s installed on the outside of the ductwork, between the extraction point and the exhaust fan, so it’s easy to fit and maintain.
The beauty of it is that it eliminates smells by oxidising pathogens and it reduces grease build-up in the exhaust ducting preventing failures in fans and fire hazards so saving you money in the long run.
Illuminating the darkness
Now that the days are much shorter you will need to have all the lights in good order. It’s always the way, isn’t it, that when you first need something, it doesn’t work. Here at CK Direct, we supply commercial kitchens with light, so if you need to be ahead of any failure get some in now as a back-up.
