May, the month of cherry blossoms and warmer days
The first Bank Holiday has just passed, and we hope it was good for your business.
The next one is on the 26 May, and then there is that big gap until 25 August.
Of course, the schools break up for their summer holidays on Friday 18 July and go back on Tuesday 2 September, so that’s 6 weeks when UK catering establishments can benefit from an upsurge in trade as more and more people stay in the UK for their holidays.
So, to benefit from that, now is the time to start marketing and get your name in front of as many people as possible.
Are you marketing?
The reality is that the cost of living is still rising and as a result many people will be taking several long weekend breaks as well as a week or two on the coast.
In order to make the most of their holiday they will, naturally, be looking for good, reliable places to stay and would like to know where good eating places are in that area.
So, you have to ask yourself how would you find good reliable restaurants in a town you’ve never been to before?
Usually, in holiday lets and hotels there are leaflets for the holiday maker to browse through.
So how about having leaflets printed that advertise your restaurant’s menu. The leaflet should include at least 3 reviews and a 10% discount voucher.
Here are a few more ideas:
- Fliers – get some A5 fliers printed and distribute them throughout your area – each week.
- Local advertising – if budget allows place adverts in the local papers, and on local radio.
- Light lunches – offer a single course with a possible desert and a child’s menu too.
- Afternoon tea – the afternoon tea experience is more and more popular. If you start offering afternoon teas, between 3pm and 6pm, it will introduce people to your establishment. It also gives you the golden opportunity to advertise the evening menu with a 10% discount voucher.
These are just a few of our ideas, which many marry with the ones you have.
Are you in good condition for the summer?
Summer is supposed to be warm, if not hot, so have you checked that:
- Your Ventilation & Extraction System is working efficiently?
CK Direct can supply and/or maintain extract-only hoods, extract & air input hoods, island canopies, air input systems, odour & noise control products. - Your Air Handling system maintains a comfortable temperature and atmosphere?
CK Direct are proud to be able to offer Domekt, Verso, RHP and Klasik series - You are not flooding the neighbourhood with cooking odours?
Keep the atmosphere around your establishment odour free by using the CK Direct AirTeck unit. It’s a very efficient ozone generator that eliminates smells by oxidising pathogens in the exhaust pipes. It also prevents the build-up of grease residue in the ductwork, preventing failures in the fans and fire hazards. - Your steel fabrications are all clean and tidy?
CK Direct can make steel cladding, tables, shelves, cupboards to order. Just call with dimensions and we will make it for you. - Finally, if you need any help or advice just call us on 01733 230378
